So I went on to the Odeon website to check out the 10 highest rate films a the moment, and these were what was on it.

Out of these 9, Filth was the only British made film, and it was still distributed by lion gate, a massive producing company. In class we were talking about what kind of films we watched, and although it was definitely not shocking it was a bit disappointing the amount of films that weren't massive budget hollywood films. I did a little bit of research into the smaller films on the list, and Blue Jasmine, which i thought would have been one of the cheaper films, still had a gigantic budget of $30 000 000. I suppose its just a sad reality that small films from unknown makers will probably never make it on to the big screens, which is why it was surprising to see films like Despicable Me up there,  who had a small time distributor when it was originally released.
