THIS WEEKS FILM RELEASES

This week 'The Odeon' homepage advertises various newly released films. Most of the films listed are big hollywood movies and less then half are British made films.his explains why America play a important part in the film industry as they take up half the percentage of the films buisness.
Films such as:
  • White House
  • Down, Diana
  • Thor - The Dark World
  • Runner Runner
  • Filth
  • Insidious 2
  • Rush
According to some people in class they said that they wouldn't want to spend money on watching a film like 'Filth'. Filth is a british made film. Filth is an predictable film as in what is going to happen, most films like this have similar or almost the same story line which could be a reason to why it may bore some people now as their is nothing unique about it.

Majority of people in class said they wanted to go watch 'White House Down' as it stared familiar well-known actors like Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx who are very popular people within Hollywood. Action films are proved to be one of the most popular genre of film in all time, hence why it is almost inevitable that most people would want to see a film like 'White House Down'.

3D films play a massive part in the film industry as they can make twice as money compared to a normal film. Nowerdays for ever £5 brought in the film industry £1 is from 3D movies. Movies like these are mainly targeted at young children that need a parent/gardian with them to watch movies meaning that the cinema gets twice the amount of money would get from a bunch of teenagers going to watch a movie. This proves that 3D films have a huge price difference to normal films in order to make up for them not being in cinemas like other regular films. Quite alot of people do not like 3D movies and prefer normal ones.
